“In the Name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirits”
Matthew 28:19

Do you know someone who always works faithfully behind the scenes?

God exists in a trinity. He certainly has no trouble keeping in balance, Father, Son, and Holy Spirit-three in one, but I think we often look at the First, Second, and Third Persons of the trinity as having varying degrees of importance in our lives. God the father gets the most respect. He has all the power and authority. Jesus, the Son, is everyone’s favorite. Celebrate his birth, admire His life, and honor the memory of his death with gratefulness.
What about this Third Person?
“In the Name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit”
HOLY SPIRIT-hardly means third rate. “The earth was without forms, and void; and darkness was on the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God was hovering over the face of the waters” Gen 1:2. You see the Holy Spirit was there from the very beginning.
Also the Holy Spirit was there in Matt. 1:20 “Do not be afraid to take to you Mary your wife, for the which is conceived in her is of the Holy Spirit.” And also check out Luke 1:35. The Spirit is the one who brought about Mary’s Immaculate Conception.
“And the Holy Spirit descended in bodily form like a dove upon Him, and a voice came from which said, ‘you are my beloved Son; in you I am well pleased’”
“For there are three that bear witness in Heaven: the Father, the Word (Jesus), and the Holy Spirit; and these three are ONE”
There are people in this world who quietly go about their business without ever receiving praise or acknowledgement for their good work. Church is a good place to take these folks for granted. They sweep up and lock doors. They manage the sound system and etc. These people do their jobs without ever calling attention to them. They keep things running so smoothly, it never occurs to us how those things get done!
Often the Holy Spirit is taken for granted because He works quietly behind the scenes in our lives. Things just seem to get done. It doesn’t always occur to us that someone is doing all the work. Do you know what the Spirit’s role in a believer’s life is?
In 1 John 5:6 “It is the Spirit who bear witness, because the Spirit is TRUTH” The Spirit is TRUTH, Jesus Himself told us He was the way, the TRUTH, and the life.
In John 6:63 “It is the Spirit who gives LIFE…The words that I speak to you is spirit, and they are LIFE.” Spirit also gives us LIFE.
Why is the Spirit’s presence in our hearts so vital to our spiritual lives?
1 Corinthians 2:11 “For what man knows the things of a man except the Spirit of the man which is in him? Even so no one knows the things of God except the Spirit of God” Who could know God better than God? If we want to know God intimately, we must learn about him through the Spirit. The Spirit’s presence in our hearts is so vital because it is through Him that we touch God’s thoughts.
In the Study if you want to dig deeper about the Holy Spirit get a Bible, Bible dictionary or Bible encyclopedia and look up Holy Spirit and make a list for yourself the role of the Holy Spirit.
My Trinket for this week is the thing that associates with the Holy Spirit is the Dove. When I look at my Dove it will remind me though the Spirit hold an importance in my life that I won’t take it for granted.

“Do you not know that you are the temple of God and that the Spirit of God dwells in you?” 1 Corinthians 3:16.

The past bible study I learned to know God, and being Known by Him. God is our Father, our friend, and our ever present Helper. This week I came to realize that he’s also my “roommate.” My Heart and soul share space with His spirit. I know he knows me intimately because He lives with me and also in everyone.

“They shall call His name Immanuel, which translated, ‘God is with us’” Matt. 1:23 this means that Jesus himself was God with us. He left heaven’s glories to be a man. Walked along with people, showed and taught them God’s love.

“As You, Father, are in me, and I in you; that they also may be one in us” John 17:21 It took me several times to reread this scripture to fully understand it. It reminds me of a riddle but Jesus was the one with God and offered us a way to be with Him. God offered us to be with him. ‘GOD WITH US.’

“That Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith.” Eph 3:17 Salvation is inviting Jesus into our hearts. Amen.

“Do you not know that you are the temple of God and that the Spirit of God dwells in you?” 1 Cor. 3:16 Paul says we are temples-that dwelling place of God. We should set apart, and made Holy by the One who lives with.

“Or do you not know that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God, and you are not your own?” 1 Cor. 6:19. WE ARE NOT OUR OWN WE BELONG TO GOD. HE OWNS US.

Our Purpose is in God’s overall plans. We have the abilities to make who we are but we are uniquely made to fulfill some part of God’s OVERALL plan. With the Spirit help we can find the way we were made to bring glory to God’s name, not our own. When I sit here and study this part I can’t help but think of Jason’s story. Jason touched many people through his 7 month Journey but I do believe God had a purpose for Jason for his overall plan. I wish Jason was here with me now so we can enjoy our lives together but I do think that God’s plan is much bigger than what I want. He used Jason to bring glory to his Name. I have gotten so many emails and comments saying how much Jason has inspired them and bringing them closer to God. I know Jason didn’t die in vain I believe God’s plan was to take his young life to save others and to bring Honor and Glory to his name.

PONDER AND PRAY

God is with us. It’s a promise we can cling to and a fact we can rely on. This week ponder just what it means to have God dwelling with you.
Have you ever felt Him to be so close to you before? I do.
Thank God for his presence and pray for a greater sensitivity to Him.

My Trinket to treasure for this week is a hanger to remind me to share my “closet space.” I’m not going to let my clutter push the Lord off to the side. He reigns in our heart, not to be pushed in a tiny dark corner.

I WILL SEND YOU A HELPER

Ch. 3 I WILL SEND YOU A HELPER

"And I will pray that the father, and He will give another Helper, that may abide with you forever" John 14:16

In most all movies you have main character and their sidekicks, without the sidekick there wouldn't be the main character. Just like Batman without Robin, Fred Flintstone without Barney, and so on. Just the movies the bible, they were duos like Moses had Aaron. David had Johnathon. Paul had Barnabas. But Aaron, Johnathon, and Barnabas didn't get the attention like their friends. Without them, the heroes of Scripture would have been very lonely. The heroes needed helpers to care, share secrets, and just someone they can listen to. They needed friends, a confidant, and a HELPER.

In Mark 1:8 " I indeed baptized you with water, but He will baptize you with the Holy Spirit"
Just like John the baptizer need a helper as he baptize the followers. He would baptize them in the water but Jesus was the one who can baptize believers with the Holy Spirit.

In John 16:7 "Nevertheless I tell the truth. It is your advantage that I go away; for if I do not go away, the Helper will not come to you; but if I depart, I will send Him to you."
That just means that Jesus said that unless He left, the spirit could not be sent. When Jesus returned to his Father, He could send the Helper to them.

Our invaluable gift is the Holy Spirit(helper) according to John 14:26 " The helper, the Holy Spirit , whom the Father will send in My name, He will teach you all things, and brings to your remembrance all things that I said to you."

In John 14:16 "And I will pray the father, and he will give you another Helper, that He may abide with you FOREVER. " In that Jesus promised that the helper with be with us FOREVER. That's amazing that we will always have someone to always be there our own HELPER.

I know some as kids we all had nicknames like my were and still are lulu, boo boo, lineykay, and so on I had so many growing up just like God nickname is Helper. God is our helper and the Holy Spirit was sent to be a Helper.

Helper can be defined in one word LORD but Psalms 54:4 "See, God will help me. The Lord will support me.

This is MY FAVORITE SCRIPTURES: "I'M NOT AFRAID CAUSE THE LORD IS MY HELPER. PEOPLE CANT DO ANYTHING TO ME" Hebrews 13:6 We should be bold about this. Stand up for what is right and the truth cause nothing can hurt you if you have your HELPER on your side.

I pray tonight that God our helper will be at Jason's side to pull him out of this rough path of his journey to heal the pain that is in his body to get that stupid graph vs host out so he can live a normal life with his family. Amen.

This week my trinket is a superhero mask-to remind me that the best heroes travel in duos. Without a sidekick, the superhero would lead a lonely life. That constant companion becomes someone to trust, to understand, to listen, to care, and to share secrets. The Holy Spirit is our own closest companion-a friend, a confidant, and a helper. I hope everyone considers that God is their sidekick and without him we will live a lonely life.

Being Known

ch. 2 BEING KNOWN

"NOW WHAT MORE CAN DAVID SAY TO YOU? FOR YOU, LORD GOD, KNOW YOUR SERVANT" 2 SAMUEL 7:20

If y'all don't already know I'm doing a bible study Experiencing Spiritual Intimacy and I'm on the second week and it about Being known. Is there anything or anyone that you could say you're a fan? I am a fan of alot of things Carolina Gamecocks, reading the twilight saga books, Robert Pattinson, Justin Timberlake and the twilight, new moon movie. Everyone is a fan of something, But every fan comes to realization one day that their fascination is completely one-sided. They know everything about their favorite author, actor, performer, but to their idol, they are just another stranger.

God knows us and we are not another face in the crowd. The relationship is two-sided, when we wants to know all we can about God, God already knows all about us. Psalm 44:21 "God would have known, because he knows whats in our hearts"

There are times that we put our best faces on to fool others about how they look, image is everything but according to 1 Samuel 16:7 " But the Lord said to Samuel Don't look how handsome Eliab or how tall he is, b/c I have not chose him. God does not see the same way people see. People look at the outside of a person, but the Lord looks at the heart."

I know some wonder how does God know us so well? Read Job 33:4 "The Spirit of God created me, and the breath of the Almighty gave me life." and in Job 10:8 "Your hands shaped and made me. Do you now turn around and destroy me?"

Our hearts long to be known intimately. God knew us before we ever took a breath!

Psalm 139:13-16

"For you Formed my WHOLE BEING; You FORMED me in my mothers womb. I will praise You, for I am FEARFULLY and WONDERFULLY made; Marvelous are Your works, And that my soul knows very well . My FRAME was not HIDDEN from you, When I was made in SECRET, And SKILLFULLY wrought in the lowest parts of the earth. Your eyes saw my SUBSTANCE, being yet UNFORMED. And in your book they all were written, The Days FASHIONED for me, When as yet there were none of them."

Its so weird that God is so BIG, bigger than any actor, singer, sports figure, and just any big time celebrity, and we are so small but he cares about every little detail of our lives. He knows us intimately and loves us unconditionally.

As I was going through this I think my favorite Scriptures is in Ephesians 2:10 " God made us who we are. In Christ Jesus, God made us to do good works, which God planned in advance for us to live our lives doing" to me its like we are God's own masterpieces. That's so amazing.

They are other Scriptures that you can read to know that God knows every thought, feeling, just everything about us.

God knows us and loves us from his Holy Spirit he pours love in our lives. Romans 5:5 "And this hope will never disappoint us, b/c God has poured out his love to fill our hearts. He gave us his love through the Holy Spirit, whom God has given to us.

My Trinket for this week is a pennant-the thing you wave at a sporting events. It means while the average fan is just a face in the crowd and a stranger, we are recognized, known, and loved by our lord. Though we wave it in the midst of a sea of cheering people, we are in seen individuals and known by God.

Experiencing Spiritual Intimacy

For Christmas Heather bought me 4 bible study with a bible to go with them. In each book they have 12 weeks of bible study. Each week I'm going to start studying a different chapter so I can get closer to God and his word. Please y'all pray for me, as I go through these bible study and so I can get closer and more intimacy with God.

The first bible study book that I started is Experiencing Spiritual Intimacy. I'm on

Chapter 1. Knowing God

"And this is Eternal Life, that they may know You, the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom You have sent." John 17:3

Alot of people (including myself) think they really know who God really is, but just when we think we have figure God figured out, something unexpected happens us to our foundation.

God is big, bigger than anything, just like Job 36:26 "Behold, God is great, and we do not know him; nor can the number of his years be discovered."

There is alot of information on the starting place for a relationship b/w God and myself. Here are some good scriptures to build a relationship with God.

Exodus 8:10

Deuteronomy 4:35

Deuteronomy 4:39

Psalm 46:10

Psalm 100:3

It also explains the precious gift that God give to us in Jeremiah 24:7- "Then I will give them a heart to know me, that I am the Lord; and they shall be My people, and I will be their God"

That we came to know our God 1 John 5:19-20, and how to get to know a God who is unknowable in 1 Cor. 2:10- " God has revealed them to us through his Spirit. For the Spirit searches all things, yes, he deep things of God."

It goes on to say that God surprises you and me for the better and for the worse so we can open our eyes and adjust our perceptions of who God is and what he is doing. Wow that is so true, I think it was was meant for Heather to give me this book during this time that me and my family is going through. God knows what he is doing (hes the unknowing) He put this trial in front of me to test me to see if I really know who God is. Praise God!!

I know sometime we're proud-accomplishment, some talent, some characteristic, our personality and just glad that you are you but Jeremiah 9:24 say we should be proud, boast about, or glory in Lord-"Let him glories glory in this, That he understands and knows Me, That I am the Lord, exercising lovingkindness, judgement, and righteousness in the earth. For in these I delight."

I'm know y'all probably didn't want to know my bible study but I'm excited to get closer to God and want to share the new Scriptures that I learned to have a spiritual intimacy with God.

Oh at the end of each bible study to have a Trinket (treasure, souvenir, kinda like a reminder of different lessons shared.) Well my Trinket is a walking stick its a reminder that our Christian walk gives us the chance to know God. To lean on as we travel to God's continued goodness trails. As we explore new paths, and for landmarks of our spiritual walk.

I really hope that anyone reads this will get something out of it like I did. I hope that everyone would want a Spiritual Intimacy and try to really know who God is to have close bond with him. I 'm going to try to update each week as I go through these different bible studies and I hope that all of y'all will follow along with me.
